NORTH CAROLINA WATERFALLS

Driving Directions: From U.S. 64 North, turn right onto N.C. 215. Continue 10.3 miles, passing Living Waters Ministry and Mill Shoals in 7.6 miles. Turn right onto gravel F.R. 140. Continue on F.R. 140 for 3.2 miles to the gated F.R. 140 on the right.
Hiking Directions: From Upper Courthouse Falls, ascend the bank on the left on a small spur trail. Continue for 0.63 mile to a view of a small cascade on the right. At 0.67 mile from Upper Courthouse Falls, the trail ends at the creek. Cross the creek and pick up the path on the other side. You will now be on the right side of the creek. At 0.75 mile from Upper Courthouse Falls climb through a small drainage and cross the creek again. Stay left on the other side of the creek and rockhop upstream until you are able to pick up the path again on the left side of the creek. Continue 0.8 mile to the end of the trail at the creek below where two cascades fall into a small pool. Cross the creek below the cascades, following the right side of the creek upstream. Work your way upstream crossing the creek once more. Pick up the trail on the left side of the creek and follow it upstream to the falls.
